Sunday At The Point

Headed out to Cypremort Point this afternoon as the weather was picture perfect. The Point is basically the closest point accessible by car to the Gulf of Mexico from New Iberia. Now with a new Intracoastal Bridge, it only takes 20 minutes to get there. Usually we would have to wait for the drawbridge and that could take a long time.
We went down to the Yacht Club in an area that is closed in by a private road. This road runs next to the water, and there is usually no one on the road. The usual traffic is golf carts. The speed limit is 5 mph. John Michael and Thomas recognize this road as the only time they can take off their seatbelts and really get a look at the water. They also get to take turns sitting with Daddy and steering the car down the street. John Michael can steer pretty good for a 5 year old. Thomas is too busy looking at the water to look where he is driving, but it's fun for all of us.
When we got down to the harbor area the kids threw some rocks, and there was a really cool speed boat going back and forth in the Bay. When the guys were finished showing off they pulled in the canal where we were standing, so the kids got a good look at the boat that had flames painted on the sides. JM & Thomas were impressed. We stayed for about an hour, played around and them headed home. Mom is still at St. Edwards getting things ready. Pics below.
